Working with forward-thinking businesses that share my ethos about harnessing the inter-connectedness of people and business whilst protecting the environment is the motivation for what I do and the reason I love it!
Despite all the difficulties we face in South Africa and Africa in general, we are a talented, resilient people with so much potential that should be nurtured by doing business within a framework of respect, compassion, and authenticity.
Like all EMEs, my entrepreneurial journey to establish The Human Element includes many lessons. Finding myself stuck between a rock and hard place in a job I disliked, I finally decided to go it alone. I was a spoiled "corporate animal" and quickly discovered how difficult this is when one is clueless about registering a business, branding, marketing, IT, pricing, targeting the right clients, networking, etc., and I had to learn fast!
Relocating from Durban to Cape Town a few years ago also required that I learn lessons about re-positioning myself and updating my business offerings to meet the needs of different markets while remaining relevant and true to my ethos.
Training can be fun!
NOW I CAN CONFIDENTLY SAY TO MY CLIENTS THAT:
Self-belief and resilience are critical when times are tough (and good to have even when they are not)
Maintaining good relationships through a reputation for great service is the only way to survive and thrive
With perseverance and partnering with the right people, one can handle any challenge or opportunity that comes your way!
